An Industrial cluster is a geographic concentration of interconnected businesses, suppliers, and associated institutions in a particular field. Clusters are considered to increase the productivity with which companies can compete, nationally and globally. Industrial clusters have played an important role in the robust GDP growth of India. However, close proximity also creates problems like significant localized environmental burden. This paper proposes a three step study to alleviate this burden by identifying synergies, creation of an environment for collaboration among various stakeholders, and creation of framework for implementation of pilot synergy project in one of the big industrial clusters in India.
