EVI started its carbon business by providing consultancy to various carbon credit projects under Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) of Kyoto Protocol. Till date, the company has registered 32 CDM projects and is working on an additional pipeline of over 200 projects in more than 10 countries. Areas of expertise include renewable energy, waste to energy, plantations & agro-forestry, energy, industrial gases, methane avoidance etc. EVI is also working in some of the most complicated areas such as Programmatic CDM, Bus Rapid Transportation (BRT), Efficient Housing, Low carbon agricultural practices, ODS destruction and REDD etc.
For opportunities in compliance and voluntary carbon markets; EVI offers Carbon facilitation under various standards such as CDM, VCS, VER+, CCX, CCAR, CCBA etc), technical expertise (EPC), financial structuring (equity/investor/carbon financing) and carbon asset management services.
Realizing the need for businesses to integrate climate change aspects into their long term business planning and to move towards low carbon products & services, EVI offers strategic advisory in the area of carbon foot-printing, GHG management, Climate change risk & opportunity assessments, scenario modeling, energy efficiency and carbon neutrality. On policy front, EVI continues to advise government divisions on climate change/ renewable energy policies.
